Kevin Desmond's latest book

My latest book has just been published here in France - about Monsieur Gustave Trouvé who invented the first electric car then the first electric boat (coincidentally the first detachable outboard engine for it) in 1881, and then invented the electric horn and the electric headlamp as fittings for his boats. Visit the publisher's website  pleinepage.com and look at "A La Recherche de Trouvé". It's taken me over twenty years to research this one....Perhaps there will be an English edition....

Here it is being driven by Tim Seebold during a round of the US F1 Prop Tour.
So good to see that distinctive white cowling back on the circuits.

Due to the closure of the Basildon Motor Boat Museum, we have been asked if we would like to be the custodians of the ‘Charlie Sheppard Archive’. The archive contains the paper ephemera collected by Charlie during his years of involvement with the CMBRC, the Embassy Grands Prix and the 1975 races in Cardiff Docks. The archive will be available to anyone who wishes to access its contents. In due course we will add a list of the archive’s contents to the website. We are also pleased to have been asked to look after the Seebold boat that used to be housed at the Basildon Museum. With the help and support of Jason Mantripp at the LOBMBC the boat will be restored to its former glory.

Here are the latest photos of how Kevin Cross's restoration of his 1976 Velden is going. This boat was raced in Australia by Cees van der Velden and continued to be raced there by various drivers including Craig Bailey before being bought by Kevin.
